Story Cattle Company & Outfitting has been in the outfitting business on this ranch for over twenty years. We hunt on 20,000+ private acres and have access to Forest Service property as well. Over 30 miles of old logging roads gets us to the game fast and easy in four wheel drive vehicles.

We hunt elk two different ways:

The first is stalking and can require 5 to 7 mile hikes per day. The other is stand hunting at strategic spots. This takes a lot of patience but probably produces 60% of the elk. The average range for a shot is 200 yards and the minimum caliber we allow is a .270 or 30-06.
